From the Principal

Dear Goshen Elementary School Students and Parents,
Welcome to school year 2015-2016. The office will be open for business at 8 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2015. Registration is from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, in the main hallway. All elementary students must register every year. Returning students need to bring their final report card and proof of residence. New students need to bring their final report card, proof of residence, Immunization, Eye/Ear/Dental, birth certificate, and Social Security card. You will be
able to sign up for Prime Time, after school care, during registration. Parents of Fourth and Fifth

Grade students may sign their children up for Beach Club. It will be held after school on Thursdays. Beach Club is sponsored by Fleming Baptist Church. Bring your wallet, as we will be selling Goshen T-shirts, tumblers, and other goodies, in order to send our students on educational field trips. Open House is 6-8 PM, also on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. You will be able to meet our teachers and participate in an art activity, as we kick-off Arts Integration at Goshen Elementary School. Come check out our new look!

This year students will be in school from 7:30 AM until 2:30 PM, fifteen minutes longer than before. Please make note of this change. No students will be dismissed between 2 and 2:30 PM. Breakfast will be served from 7-7:30 AM. Morning drop-off is from 7-7:30 AM, and afternoon dismissal is at 2:30 PM. Students will be walked out to cars, buses, Prime Time, Beach Club, and the neighborhood. Morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal will be in front of the building. Buses will load and unload in the bus zone, behind the building. Walkers and car riders will enter the front of the building between 7 and 7:30 AM, and will walk to the cafeteria, to eat breakfast. Breakfast closes at 7:30 AM, so eaters need to be at school between 7 and 7:15 AM. Students will begin entering class at 7:15 AM. Class begins promptly at 7:30 AM. Parents, there is no need to line up in front of the building before 2:30 PM, as students are not dismissed until 2:30 PM. Teachers will promptly walk your children to your car at 2:30 PM, and we will keep the line moving, as you may not park in your car out on Old Waynesboro Road. Thanks for your cooperation.

Our students will be exposed to Spanish and the Arts. Teachers are receiving training in Arts Integration strategies in order for students to become creative thinkers. We will be teaching the S.T.E.M. Curriculum, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Goshen Elementary is the only elementary school in Richmond County adding the Arts, making us the only S.T.E.A.M. school. This we do to prepare Goshen Elementary School students for college and careers, after graduation from Cross Creek High School. Goshen Elementary School, Pine Hill Middle School, and Cross Creek High School faculties have united in Feeder School Vertical Collaboration Team Building. We are one
community, serving our families and preparing the way for smooth transition for students, from Pre-K through Senior year. Goshen Elementary School is Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead! Join in!
